CSCS Elem Panthergram!
December 13th, 2020
A Message from Mr. Anderson
This is our last full week of school before Holiday Break! We are so excited that we have stayed open and are working hard with our students and families. We will continue supporting eachother and doing our best to continue to increase contact and support of our students to meet thier academic, social, and emotional needs!
At the end of the week your child took home a letter from Mrs. Hagenbuch (attached below) and a Consent for Testing for COVID-19. This is a precautionary measure just in case our school falls into a cluster zone that would require testing for our school to be able to stay open. The form can also be completed on the school app digitally too for parent convenience.
That being said, schools continue to be one of the safest places for children and adults to be, and we are dedicated to keeping our school open. We are encouraged that the Governor has modified the metrics of what makes an area become a "colored zone", and are hopeful that this will work in our favor. More information will be coming out early this week and the school will be communicating to parents anything that may affect our safety processes at school.
To celebrate the holiday season and show school spirit we will be having Thursday/Friday theme celebrations through the month of December! This week will be UGLY SWEATER!!!! YAY! Put on your "ugliest" holiday sweater and we can laugh together!
Thank you for your continued support and trust as we work together to meet the needs of our students first in all our decisions.

Important Message About Student Physicals
Dear Parents,
As of July 1, 2018 New York, State law requires a health examination for all students entering the school district for the first time and when entering Pre-K or Kindergarten, 1st, 3rd, 5th, 7th, 9th and 11th grade.
For New enrollments: A copy of the health examination must be provided to the school within 30 days from when your child first starts at the school, and when your child starts pre-K, 1st, 3rd, 5th, 7th, 9th, & 11th grades.
The examination must be completed by a licensed physician, physician assistant, or nurse practitioner in the state of New York. For your convenience, the appropriate forms can be found on the district health services web page.
A copy of the health examination must be provided to the school nurse.
The Covid-19 Pandemic has presented many difficulties for all of us and has changed many things in our health offices.
I cannot honestly say how we will be attempting physicals with our school doctor. Currently the Department of Health is suggesting that we wait until the beginning of the new year before we attempt to do anything within the health office. Of course, they also say that it depends on how the pandemic goes. At least one local school is not going to be doing them at all and have asked parents to use their own doctor.
So, I’m asking that if it is possible, please schedule a physical with your child’s doctor as soon as possible. And submit it to the health office for our files.
If your child has had a physical and you feel this date is not correct, please contact their doctor to obtain a copy for you to submit to the health office.
Thank You,
School Info App - Communicating with your child's teacher(s)
How to Get messages from your child's teachers: One important way to get messages from your child's teacher and to make sure that you are getting updates from the school is to go to "My Alerts". Once in "my alerts" make sure that "Enable Push Notifications" is turned on and that all of the buttons are turned "on".
Next... look at the bottom of the screen, you will see the picture of a bell next two an icon of two people. Click on the icon of the 2 people. This will then bring up teachers names along with icons to turn on notifications. Search out your child's teacher(s) and turn on those notifications.
If you would like to send your child a message, go back to the main screen and click "conversations" this then works just like text messaging on your smart phone. Make sure to put a title to the message so you know who you are sending it to when you go back to the app.
New Things!
- The student absence and Tech Help Forms are now in a button on the first page of the app! Just click and you can fill everything out on your smartphone!
A word of advice - Always check and make sure when you are in the app that you are in the correct school. Make sure that it is the Campbell Savona Elementary school:)
