The Saint Columbkille School Family Newsletter

Hello, Knights!

What an incredible week at Saint Columbkille School!

Last Friday, SCS hosted Mrs. Tracey Arnone, assistant superintendent of schools for the Diocese of Cleveland, and Mrs. Shannon Schrock, interim director/coordinator of inclusion for the Diocese of Cleveland. This opportunity was requested by the Diocese for Mrs. Schrock to look at both or school and inclusion (Jon Peterson) program.

Saint Columbkille School has one of the longest running and most comprehensive Jon Peterson programs in the Diocese! We are certainly blessed to be able to offer a Catholic Education to ALL children or ALL abilities!

Thank you to the Junior High Teachers and Families for an incredible Curriculum Night! It was amazing to have you all in the building again, even with protocols still in place! Your feedback, questions, and inquiries are appreciated. We hope that this evening offered some clarity regarding the Junior High expectations, protocols, and procedures.

As always, if there are questions, please reach out to your child's homeroom teacher.

This weekend, after the 5:30PM Mass, stay for PIZZA! There will be an awesome Pizza Truck for you to enjoy and even the chance to DUMP WATER of Father Suso or Father Bearer!

There's amazing MAGIC happening at Saint Columbkille! This is an exciting time to be a part of the Knights Community!

As always, your continued support is appreciated! We couldn't make the MAGIC without your SUPPORT!

Quarantine Procedures

The Quarantine Procedures that were sent a few newsletters ago pertain to students within a classroom setting. Those procedures do not outline the necessary steps if a child contracts COVID or a family member within the household contracts COVID.

If a family member within the same household tests positive for COVID:

All students who attend SCS must quarantine for a minimum of 10 days. Those students must also present a NEGATIVE COVID test that is no more than 3 days old before being allowed to return.

If during that 10 day period, symptoms of COVID being to emerge, please contact your child's pediatrician for further advice.

If a child contracts COVID who attends SCS, that child must remain in a 14 day isolation (away from others) before being able to assume normally scheduled activities; school, sports, etc.

Please continue to correspond with Mr. Richards and the child's homeroom teacher regarding this issue.

Morning Arrival and Afternoon Pick Up

Please make sure that you have your child's Car Number clearly visible for our staff members to see during Afternoon Pick Up.

Also, it is imperative that your child is able to exit and enter the vehicle on his/her own. Please have your child exit on the PASSENGER SIDE of the vehicle.

Please do not pass other vehicles, this includes the buses, in the line if your child(ren) has/have already exited. Please be patient and wait for the car in front of you to move.

Please do not exit your vehicle to assist your child out of the vehicle in the morning. This is dangerous and can slow the arrival process.

If your child needs assistance getting out of the vehicle, one of the staff members will be able to help.

If you need to unbuckle or buckle in your child, we ask that you park your vehicle in a parking space.

Arrival and Dismissal can be stressful for parents, students, and staff members. We ask that everyone be kind, courteous, and and example of Christ!
