Principal's Corner
Sept. 28th - October 2nd
Can you believe that September is nearly over - wow!
We are in a groove with our Comprehensive Distance Learning. Compared to other years, there are actually more grades in teacher gradebooks now than there ever has been before. Part of this is the importance that our teachers know about giving meaningful feedback to students - especially in distance learning! Please partner with us not only in monitoring your student's attendance, but also their grades as we progress through the quarter!
We have a few resources for you and your family that will be mainstays for our newsletter. Please see below our "Family Character Dare" for another possible way to connect with your student. And remember to visit our "Middle Years" page on our website to find a monthly newsletter designed to serve your family.
Thank you for partnering with us in promoting a healthy, positive, and appropriate virtual footprint that your student is leaving. We still expect that our students and teachers are respectful, appropriate, helpful, and people of integrity even in our online classes. Teachers will continue to reinforce their classroom expectations, similar to what we have each year with our in-person classes.
Lastly, be on the lookout for different ways for your student to get involved with different clubs and activities here at South - even digitally! We will be starting Brain Bowl, State of Jefferson Scavenger Hunt, and other clubs and activities soon!
Grace & Peace,
Mr. Sale
Weekly Character Dare
Go for a walk in your neighborhood or at a local park and pick up any trash you see along the way.
Come prepared! Bring some gloves and your own trash bag so you can be clean while you clean. Try making it a competition between all family members: Who can pick up the most trash or pick up trash the fastest?!?!
