We are looking forward to an incredible journey beginning tomorrow with our first half-day of school! Thank you to those families and scholars stopping in this afternoon for supply drop off. We look forward to welcoming our families and scholars into the building showing off their masks this evening as well!!

Tuesday, August 17th: OLHMS Supply Drop Off

• From 6:00pm - 7:30pm

• All scholars, staff and visitors must wear a mask at all times inside the building.

• The OLHMS Supply Drop Off is a relaxed opportunity for scholars and families to walk our halls, check out Encore spaces, find their advisory classroom and begin learning or relearning how to open a locker.

• SchoolKidz orders have been placed in scholar’s advisory classrooms.

Wednesday, August 18th: First Day of School (Half Day)

• School doors open at 8:25am

• Classes begin at 8:30am

• Dismissal at 11:30am

Thursday, August 19th: First Full Day of School

• School doors open at 8:25am

• Classes begin at 8:30am

• Dismissal at 3:20pm

Additional OLHMS Reminders and Expectations

Student Schedules: Please note that student schedules may have to be adjusted after the first day of school. We appreciate everyone patience and understanding.

Transportation: Scholar’s bus routes/ information can be located in Skyward.

• All bus riders must be wearing a mask at all times

• Scholars should be at pick up locations 10 minutes prior to pick up time.

• Bus drop off takes place in the front of the building on 99th.

• Please be patient and anticipate the timing of bus service to be a challenge the first couple weeks of school.

Student Entry(8:25am) and Staggered Dismissal(3:20pm):

• Masks must be worn to enter the building

• Scholars do not need to provide self certifications daily

• Scholars will be temperature checked daily

• Bus drop off takes place in the front of the building

• Parent drop off and walkers enter the building in the back on Oak Center Dr. Parents please be patient, follow guidance from school staff and do not block the driveways of our neighbors on Oak Center Dr.

• 6th Grade scholars use Door

• 7th Grade scholars use Door

• 8th Grade scholars use Door

Lunch & Breakfast

• Lunch is not served on half days of school

• Lunch will take place in the cafetorium

• Scholars will be given hot options for lunch

• The menu will be posted on the website

• Breakfast will be distributed at dismissal daily for those interested in a grab and go fashion

Lockers

• Scholars will be using lockers

• Minimize the amount of “stuff” placed in the locker, think essential!

• Specific times (locker stops) will indicated by grade teams

OLHMS PTSA

All staff and families are highly encouraged to join the PTSA and attend meetings. This is an incredible opportunity, partnership and fun way to support our scholar’s experience at the middle school!

• Membership is $5.00 per student and $7.00 per family

• PTSA Spirit Gear Sale begins August 23rd

• PTSA First Open Gym is scheduled for September 16th from 6:00pm-7:30pm
