1st Quarter Conferences
On Wednesday, October 10th, Central High School will host Parent/Student/Teacher Conferences. These conferences will be held from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. Your student’s Advisor will be calling you to invite you to come for this event. During conferences we will be offering a light evening meal.
It is vital for all students to attend conferences with their parent/guardian on this evening. Research shows that when schools, families, and community groups work together to support learning, children tend to do better in school, stay in school longer, and like school more.
During this school year we will be holding conferences each quarter at mid-quarter time. Future conference dates are: December 19th, February 27th, and May 8th.
This is an excellent time to talk to teachers and find out how your child is doing. At mid-quarter there is time left to make improvements before the final quarter grade is assigned.

FALL NIGHT SCHOOL
Night school classes meet on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. Classes meet at the Lincoln Community Center located at 110 Fulton Street unless otherwise noted.
Attendance is vital to your child’s success at Night School. Students must attend on the first day of class and attendance is required each day until they complete the course they are enrolled in. Please read the enclosed attendance policy.
Students attending night school will be able to advance at their own pace using a program known as FLVS. FLVS is a web-based learning program designed to enhance the curriculum. FLVS develops a personalized learning path for each student and supports teachers with vision and feedback for success. We have chosen to use the FLVS learning tool to successfully guide differentiated instruction, pinpoint student needs and to ensure student growth. Students begin each lesson by completing a pre-assessment. Once they complete the assessment, they are only assigned material that they have not mastered. When a student completes a course they will be allowed to either move to another course or finish the night school session early.
If you have any questions regarding why your son/daughter was referred to this program, please call your child’s school counselor at their home school. If you have any questions regarding Central High School or the night school program, please contact Central High School.
