Students going into grade 4 will need their own Chromebook next year. WE HAVE SOME FOR SALE VERY CHEAP
Dear Parents of Students going into Grade 4:
EICS will be continuing with the “Bring Your Own Device” for learning known as “One to One” for the 2022-2023 school year for students in grade 4 and higher. Our IT Department has recommended a Chromebook for students in grade 4 as the optimal device.
We currently have some district refurbished ASUS ($40.00) and LENOVO ($20.00) Chromebooks available for purchase to be used by the grade 3 students going into grade 4 in the fall at Madonna Catholic School. Each comes with a power cord. These machines are not under any warranty.
Please call the office to request the purchase of one if you’re interested. The charge for the Chromebook would be applied to your child’s account. Once paid, a Chromebook would be issued to your child.
Alternatively, Staples has provided some information on purchasing a device from them see PDF letter below.

School Wide Field Trip to the Zoo
Dear Parents and Families,
Please note that the grade 1 to grade 4 students will be going on a field trip to the Edmonton Valley Zoo on the last day of school, Tuesday, June 28.
The cost of this field trip is $16.00 to cover the cost of admission and transportation. This amount will be put on your child's PowerSchool account to pay. This field trip must be paid by June 17th.
If your CHILD IS NOT ATTENDING this field trip can you please let your child's teacher know so we have an accurate count for cost and busing we will adjust payments in PowerSchool accordingly.
Parent volunteers are a necessity and we will need 5 to 6 adults per 30 students. Please note, that if you are wanting to volunteer, LET YOUR CHILD'S TEACHER KNOW, you will be required to ride the bus with your child's class and therefore no siblings will be able to attend the field trip with you. Your child's teacher knows how many volunteers they need. Moreover, you would need to stay with the class as they move through all the sites.
Parents wishing to volunteer with their child’s class will be required to pay their own entry into the Zoo. The cost of entry is $14.50. This cost will also be added to your Powerschool.
Students will be visiting all the sites at the zoo only! There will not be any special workshops for the students at this time.
Please send your child ready to participate with good walking shoes, a backpack, hat, sunscreen, many snacks, a big picnic lunch and a water bottle. Please also ensure to dress appropriately for the weather.
Thank you for your continued support of your child’s education throughout the year. Please contact the office or your child’s teacher with any questions.
