Questions to ask your child when they get home!
Ideas for Home
Word Hunt: Look for target words in books or in the newspaper. If using the newspaper, your child can highlight or circle the words that he/she finds.
Make words using playdoh.
Write words in shaving cream or whipped cream on an easy to clean surface.
In Reader's Workshop...
Students meet with their teachers in small guided reading groups on a daily basis.
Our first official Reading Benchmark Assessments are underway. You will receive a letter with information about your child's reading level with their second quarter report card that comes home on Friday, February 7th.
Please note, we do not discuss students' reading levels with them -- reading levels are for teachers to develop differentiated lessons based on students' needs.
Use Raz Kids to find a library of age-appropriate books for your child to read at home!
