Volunteer Opportunity
Planning committee for Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week
The annual Teacher & Staff Appreciation week is May 6-10 this year.
Family Crew would like to show our appreciation to the teachers and staff at GEMS during this week.
If you’d like to be involved with our efforts - with planning or participating please fill out the form below to join our committee/volunteer list (for planning purposes we’ll mostly be working over email).
We have some funds available from the bake sale and hopefully from the skating party to use to for this week.
Upcoming Events
Mark your calendars! We hope you can join us for these activities.
Roller Skating!
Tuesday, February 20th, 5:00-8:30pm
At Skate Zone 71 (4900 Evanswood Dr, Columbus, OH 43229)
The 1st hour (5-6pm) will be open to only GEMS students and family members and then 6-8:30 it will be open to the public.
ALL children between the ages of 3-17 must pay for admission even if they are not skating. Admission is $5 per skater, with $5 skate rental and $5 for skate mate rental. All non-skating adults are free.
See the image below for advanced ticketing information & a coupon for a meal deal. Please state you are with "Graham Elementary & Middle School" when you come in to get the discounted pricing.
If we get at least 25 paid admissions, GEMS Family Crew will receive $2 back from each admission. These funds will go to support future family crew activities!
Note: No outside food or beverages (including water bottles) are allowed. Their café will be operating with the usual treats available. Please see the Skate Zone 71 website for more information about their building policies.
Spring Playground Cleanup
Sunday, April 21, 3-4pm
Join us for another playground cleanup to get the grounds ready for springtime!
Just in time for Earth Day 2024 “Planet vs. Plastics” we plan to clean up the back parking lot and playground, front parking lot and playground, and the lawns.
We’ll also be trying to clean up the sidewalks and grassy public areas on the street near school.
If you are interested in participating or want more information please RSVP here. We'll send out a reminder and if any plans change let you know first!

April TBA
We are planning a morning (after drop off) meet up for any caregivers who would like to join us for a coffee and conversation at Global Gallery.
We are also planning some afternoon or weekend meet ups for any families who would like to join us at a local park. Adults can socialize while the kids play in the (hopefully!) nice weather.
Look for more details in the spring! Some events will be weather dependent.
