Technology Summer Take Home Program
Dear Allen ISD Families,
As part of the Empower 1:1 program and to provide students with equitable and enriching learning opportunities year-round, Allen ISD students who have paid the insurance fee can take home their school assigned device over the summer. Access to internet content through district devices will continue to be filtered through the summer months regardless of location or network connection being utilized. Additionally, the Responsible Use Policies and other student expectations are still applicable when students utilize district provided devices and student accounts.
Insurance Fee Details for the Summer Take Home Program:
- Families that paid the insurance fee during the 2021-2022 school year and are returning to Allen ISD for the 2022-2023 school year, will take home their device over the summer unless the opt-out option is selected below.
- Families who have not yet paid the insurance fee in grades 3-11 but wish to opt-in to take home their student device over the summer can pay the insurance fee through school pay for the Summer Take Home Program by May 13 of 2022.
- Insurance fees paid in April/May for the Summer Take Home Program will cover the insurance fee for school year 2022-2023.
If you paid the insurance fee and wish to opt-out of the summer device program, you must complete the Google Form to ensure the device remains on campus. Otherwise, your student will take home the device over the summer and bring it back for use on the first day of school in August.
Please visit our Empower 1:1 webpage for more information or email empower1to1@allenisd.org.
Sincerely,
Allen ISD Information Technology

To expedite your student’s enrollment, please upload the required documents within the online application. After submitting the online application, the campus registrar will contact you directly to confirm and finalize your student’s enrollment in Allen ISD. PreKindergarten Update & Enrollment for 2022-2023
In the 2022-2023 school year, Allen ISD will serve eligible students in a half-day Prekindergarten program and a full-day Prekindergarten program. There are limited seats for the full-day program.
The full-day program will consist of two full-day monolingual Prekindergarten classes and one full-day bilingual Prekindergarten class. All three full-day classes will be located at Rountree Elementary. A Prekindergarten lottery process will be held for the full-day available class seats. In order to be considered for the Prekindergarten lottery for the 2022-2023 school year, families must complete the Prekindergarten registration process and submit all required documentation by Thursday, May 26, 2022. Families will receive email notification of selection or wait list during the week of June 20th. Families of selected students must confirm their acceptance and commitment for the 2022-2023 school year by the established deadline.
National School Lunch Program- 2022-2023
At this time, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has not extended the waivers through next school year allowing us to serve breakfast and lunch meals at no cost to all students enrolled at campuses that participate in the National School Lunch Program.
Moving forward, parents and/or guardians will be required to fill out a free and/or reduced meal application in the upcoming 2022-2023 school year in order to qualify for the free and/or reduced meal program as in previous years.
The free and/or reduced meals application for the 2022-2023 school year will be available on the Student Nutrition sector of the district website on August 1st .

End of Year Reminder
All medications must be picked up by May 20th. Medications can NOT be kept over the summer. If medications are not picked up by May 20th, they will be discarded. Please keep in mind, May 20th is the last day of school and an early release day so we will dismiss at 12pm on that day. Please contact Nurse Joseph if you have any questions.
Parents of 6th Graders!
I want to be proactive in helping your 6th grader be prepared for 7th grade enrollment, as this process will begin sooner than we think! All incoming 7th grade students are required to have the following immunizations prior to starting 7th grade:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Acellular Pertussis (Tdap)
- Meningococcal (must be documented on the vaccine record as one of the following: MCV4, Menactra, Menveo, or MenACWY) Must be given on or after the 11th birthday.
Without these immunizations, your child will not be able to start school next year. We have had reports every year that those shots are scarce over the summer with so many children needing them, so the earlier, the better. If your student has had these immunizations, please turn in the documentation to the Chandler school nurse. I can enter those records into your child’s records. This will make the transition and registration process for 7th grade much easier.
There will be several general reminders sent out over the next few weeks. You can verify your child’s vaccines in Skyward. If you have already submitted these records, please disregard this notice.
Please let me know if you have any questions!

Kids Against Hunger - THANK YOU!
Our Cheetahs, Chandler Staff and many wonderful parent volunteers need to be so very proud! At our meal-packaging event last week, we packaged 34,356 meals for malnourished families in Honduras and for Ukrainian refugees! It takes a whole school working together to raise $6,000 to fund this project AND everyone helping on the assembly line to make that happen! Way to go, Cheetahs! Let's get ready for next year's Kids Against Hunger event in May 2023!
