Letter From the Principal, Mrs. Todd
Dear families,
Welcome to March! We ended February with our PTA Disney Themed BIngo Night, the Science Fair, and WSD Foundation Trivia Night! We love every opportunity that we have to connect with our families and thank those of you who were able to attend these events.
As we look ahead to spring, in addition to the impending sunshine, we have several exciting announcements. Read Across America week is coming and we are so excited to celebrate our love of books, diversity, and education throughout the week of March 2.
Spring Break is coming! While rest and sunshine are always welcomed, we start to miss our students during extended breaks. Help us stay connected to your family by sharing in a bit of social media fun! Share a picture of your family engaged in our mission - “Learning, Leading, Growing … Together” - during Spring Break. This could be a picture of your family engaged in a variety of activities that promote our mission: learning about a new board game, being leaders by helping one another clean out the garage, or growing closer as you make memories on a beach! Share your family living the Duello mission on Instagram or Twitter by tagging @duello_elem with the hashtags #DUEmission and #WeAreDuello. We cannot wait to see the fun that your family shares!
Planning continues for the remainder of this year and next year. Please remember the following:
Due Thursday, March 19: Input on your child’s 2020-2021 class placement
If you already submitted your letter to a counselor, and did NOT receive a confirmation email back from the counselor, please resend it to ensure that we received the information. We apologize for any inconvenience!
Kindergarten Registration - please enroll any incoming K students as soon as possible! We welcome you to register them at the Duello office
Candidates for the WSD upcoming April Board of Education Election

Farewell Mr. Johnson
To the Duello Family,
I hope this note finds you and your family well! First, thank you all for welcoming me to Duello. I've had an amazing experience working with our students, staff, and families, and feel very humbled to have had this opportunity. Seeing all of our young Mustangs coming in every day with smiles, and seeing the pride they take in their accomplishments and growth is so inspiring!
We all know that change in Wentzville is constant, and that is impacting all of us in different ways, myself included. I wanted to share with all of you that I will be transferring to Lakeview Elementary for the 2020-21 school year, where I will continue to serve as an assistant principal. While this will be a great opportunity for me, it will be very hard to leave the Duello family. It’s been a privilege to work with you and your children, and I am committed to supporting all members of our community throughout the remainder of the year. I know that Duello will be in great hands with Mrs. Todd, Mrs. Hooton, and our incredible staff and students leading the way. I will be working closely with the Duello team to make sure all of our students see lots of success over the rest of this school year, and please continue to reach out if you feel I can be of any assistance to you or your child. Thank you again for your support and for all you do to help our students succeed!
Sincerely,
Mr. Johnson
