A Message from the Principal
We have had a great week back from fall break. Teachers are raving about how their students remember school expectations and that they were able to jump right back into teaching and learning. We also celebrated our September team winner for our Hallway Hero contest. The Dream Team enjoys pizza and music. This month we are focused on special area behavior. The winning team will be announced Tuesday morning.
Students pledged to be drug free this week for Red Ribbon Week. We had spirit days, red ribbons, and coloring contests. Our coloring contest winners were:
Christiana-Miss Curts
Lyric-Miss Curts
Olivia-Miss Curts
Mari-Mrs. Ritter
Ava-Mrs. Bailey
Blaize-Mrs. Bailey
Leonardo-Mrs. Bailey
Addie-Mrs. Reedy
Sophia-Mrs. Savage
Carter-Mrs. Herbert
Makinzee-Mrs. Herbert
Kakob-Mrs. Rakes
Mariana-Mrs. Fangman
Luis-Miss Lang
Aaliyah-Mrs. Kennedy
Congratulations to our contest winners!
This week we held convocations covering our district's Culture Guide. Students learned about controlling their responses to events, managing their own 20 square feet, and how we reach our goals when we all work together. We had a great time.
Finally, I want to thank Mrs. Morgan for our Resource Night. With the help of Mrs. Tracy, 100 families were able to receive coats, socks, shoes, gun lockboxes, food pantry information, cell phones, and immunizations. It was a great event and took them a lot of time to set up. Thank you CIS coordinators, Mrs. Morgan and Mrs. Tracy for a great event!
Have a great weekend!
Mrs. Pearson

E= Events: We cannot control things that happen
R= Response: We can control our response to the event
O=Outcome: Having a proper response will get the desired outcome.
This concept is powerful for all of us. Daily, many things happen that are out of our control. We can lash out or we can pause, think, and then respond. Pausing for reflection allows us to get the outcome that we need and want.
