This year we are teaming up with the boys and girls basketball coaches to help support Coaches against Cancer. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the shirts will go to help fight cancer! Girls in grades K–8 are invited to join high school cheerleaders to perform at half-time of the Varsity Girls Game, Friday, December 21st. The game starts at 6:00pm. Girls are encouraged to sit in the bleachers behind the Cheerleaders until they take the floor at half-time. All participants are free to leave at the conclusion of the performance.

Fighting Cancer with Free Throws
Join the Falcon & Lady Falcon basketball teams in fighting cancer with free throws. Between December 14th & December 20th, students can participate in a free throw-a-thon to raise money for the American Cancer Society. Between December 14th and December 20th, students will find sponsors to pledge money or a flat donation for each made free throw (see back side). Students will then shoot 100 free throws at home or in the high school gym on December 16th from 3:00 - 5:00pm and keep track of how many shots they make. Pledge sheets and donations should be turned in to the high school office by Thursday, December 20th. Coca-Cola Give Program
We’re excited to share that our school is part of the Coca-Cola Give program. This opens up the Blair Oaks libraries to new funding opportunities to help improve learning environments for students. The best part? Donations don’t come out of your own pocket. When you make Coca-Cola purchases, you simply enter the product codes here: https://us.coca-cola.com/give/schools/ and the school libraries receives a donation. Just be sure to select "Blair Oaks Elementary" when you scan.
Even simpler than that, you can collect Coke caps and codes from the boxes and send them to school. We will enter them for you.
Your help with this is easy and greatly appreciated.
Home & School
Teacher Appreciation - January
Home & School would like to ask for parent volunteers to help cover car and bus duty for each of our teachers for one whole week. This will take place the week of January 14 through the 18th.
It's not too late to be a part of this special gesture for BOE staff. We need your HELP!
Please take a look at the sign-up below and see if there is a time that would work for you. Beneath the "Volunteer Sign Up" link is a brief description of each location and what it entails. As always, the Blair Oaks Elementary Home & School thanks you very much for your continued support!
Gym (p.m.) Supervisors have a walkie talkie that is used to announce when students can leave the gym. Holding the walkie up to the microphone will be the lead duty of this supervisor. There will be a teacher in the gym with you for support and direction.
Opening Car Doors - Out front of Elementary (a.m.) Supervisors will stand at a cone, open the doors for arriving students, greet them, and then close the door. Mrs. Bishop or Mr. Shackleford will be outside for support or direction.
