Room 303 Update
October 13, 2016
Wrapping up Math Unit 2 and Looking forward to Unit 3
Today students took their Unit 2 assessment on Multiplication and Division: Number Sentences and Algebra. My goal is finish correcting them tonight for students to make corrections to and then bring home tomorrow to be signed and returned. I am confident that Room 303's students did very well!
Next week we will be diving into Unit 3- Estimation and Computation with Whole Numbers. The I Can's for this unit are as follows:
I can use the distributive property and the base-ten structure of numbers to explain and show multiplication strategies.
I can model and explain multiplication using an open array and partial products.
I can use multiplication and division with whole numbers to solve problems.
I can use a number line to demonstrate my understanding of rounding whole numbers.
I know multiplication facts and related division facts 12 x 12.

This will require us to be out of the classroom next Monday, 10/17 and Tuesday, 10/18, as well as two other dates later in the year. Responsive Classroom is a a widely used, research-backed approach to elementary education that increases academic achievement, decreases problem behaviors, improves social skills, and leads to more high-quality instruction.
