October is still busy with virtual visits from College Admissions Advisors. These events are open to 6th-12th grade students. With reps sharing important updates about changes to admissions and scholarship requirements, it is important for juniors and seniors to attend!

Mental Health and Suicide Awareness
- Seniors CREW classes will have the lessons on the 21st and 28th so seniors can attending the Senior Sunrise on the 14th.
- If you and your family are in need of mental health supports please reach out to your school counselor.

- Washington County Crisis Services
- Hawthorn Walk-in Center
- The YouthLine is a teen-to-teen support and crisis helpline for youth. Students can text, call, chat, or email with us from 4-10PM every day of the week.
- Lines for Life Student Suicide Assessment Line is available Monday-Friday, 8:30AM-4:30PM, to assist with student suicide assessments and safety planning at 503-575-3760.
- The Oregon Family Support Network has a supportive helpline available for parents of children that are experiencing mental health concerns. On this line, parents can speak with other parents that have gone through similar challenges. Find more information at www.reachoutoregon.org

- Senior Year Timeline
- Now is the time to be attending Rep Visits to connect with admissions advisors and learn more about what college are looking for.
- Notes: To access the scholarships for colleges students must be accepted to a college. It is important to apply to your colleges early so there is time to also apply to scholarships offered by the colleges.
- Know your deadlines!! Applications for admissions have different deadlines than the scholarship deadlines for colleges.
- Students often have to be accepted to a school to access scholarships! Apply early!!
- Your essays matter!!!
- Letter of Recommendation are more important than ever!
- Understand test optional vs. test blind in the admissions and scholarship process
