MOMS Club® of Buckingham North
October 2016 Minutes for Moms
Message from the President
Here we find ourselves in the thick of Autumn, friends! I hope you are loving this great season so far. We've already been enjoying some lovely outings with our club to celebrate the season and I'm looking forward to spending more time with you and your little ones this month.
Have you gone apple picking yet? Did your kids try to gobble down an apple in the orchard before you paid for your haul? Have you been on the lookout for changing leaves as you drive around our beautiful county? Do you have campfires in your backyard at night? Is anyone going on any fun trips this fall? Are you looking forward to feeding your kids apple and pumpkin pie because they are basically healthy (I'm raising my hand high for this one)? Are you cheering for your kids at their games every weekend? I want to hear all about it the next time I see you!
Enjoy your October and savor all of these delicious moments with your kids!

Looking for something to do with those apples? Bake apple crisp!
Apple Crisp - serves 6
6 cups sliced, peeled apples
3-4 tbsp. granulated sugar
1/2 cup regular rolled oats
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon, ginger, or nutmeg
1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup chopped nuts or flaked coconut
1. Preheat oven to 375. In a large bowl combine apples and granulated sugar. Transfer to a 1.5- to 2-quart square baking dish; set aside.
2. For topping, in a medium bowl combine the oats, brown sugar, flour, and cinnamon. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in nuts. Sprinkle topping over apple mixture.
3. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes or until apples are tender and tipping is golden. If desired, serve warm with ice cream.
