A Message from Mrs. Caudill
Time is just flying by the school year and every day I am so thankful to be a part of such an amazing school community. It's hard to believe November is half way over! If you are anything like me, you've started digging out hats, gloves, boots and snow pants to see what still fits and what needs to be replaced. I know we don't want to think about it considering the weather we had this week, but winter is just around the corner.
Today marks the end of our first marking period. Report cards will be viewable in MiStar on Monday, November 30th. This year's report card will look different than in years prior. This year we are introducing a standards based report card. Please see the information below about our new report card and information sessions being offered to families.
Also coming next month is our annual fall parent-teacher conferences. Parent-teacher conferences are one of the most important methods of communication between our families and the school. We are very much looking forward to your participation in parent-teacher conferences during the week of November 30. We strive to ensure that we meet with every child’s parent during this time.
This year parent-teacher conferences will be done virtually via Zoom. Teachers will be sending out a ink for conferences in the future. To sign up for conferences, please click here.
We encourage your active participation in these conferences. Please be sure to bring any questions or concerns you may have so that we may address them.
Stay well,
Devon Caudill

K-5 Report Card Parent Sessions
In striving to provide a rigorous, student-centered and engaging learning experience for every student, the district has revised the manner in which we report on student progress in the K-5 level. To that end, the district has adopted a new, more rigorous way to identify what every child should know and be able to do in each subject area and grade level and has adopted a new K-5 Standards Based Report Card.
Join us at one of the Parent Sessions listed below as we provide information about the process being used at your child's school and additional background information and answer frequently asked questions.

Updates from the Student-Run Credit Union
We know your school year looks very different but one thing hasn’t changed, Community Financial Credit Union is still here to support you! Whether you are learning on-line or in person, we are thinking of you.
Community Financial encourages students to continue to set savings goals. Student members can make a deposit at one of our branches, or can keep their money safe in a piggybank for when the Amerman Student-Run Credit Union can operate once again in school. We are providing a goal sheet to help you keep track of your savings goal. Student credit union members and non-members alike may participate. Simply print the goal sheet below to start keeping track of your goal. Once you have completed your savings goal, drop off your goal sheet at a branch, or email a copy to lsimons@cfcu.org. You will receive a prize if you do!
If you are interested in opening an account, you may do so at any time during the school year. Please visit www.cfcu.org/scu to open an account online. These are dividend bearing, fee-free savings accounts with Community Financial Credit Union. Savings accounts may be used at school (when the Student-Run Credit Union is operational), online, or at any Community Financial branch during regular business hours.
Stay safe and healthy everyone!
Keep saving for your future!

November Focus: Responsible! Habit 2: Begin with the End in Mind
Every month Amerman Focuses on a new theme and Leader in Me Habit of the Month. The focus for the month of October is Be Responsible and our Habit of the Month is Habit 2: Begin with the End in Mind
Begin with the End in Mind means to begin each day, task, or project with a clear vision of your desired direction and destination, and then continue by flexing your proactive muscles to make things happen. One of the best ways to incorporate Habit 2 into your life is to develop a Personal Mission Statement. It focuses on what you want to be and do. It is your plan for success. Plan ahead and set some goals - begin with the end in mind.
If you would like to recognize your child for being proactive or using Habit 2: Be Begin with the End in Mind at home, please fill out the following Bobcat Boost and return it to your child's teacher.
Additionally, this year, on the back of the white envelopes being sent home, you will find our monthly Amerman Leader In Me calendar. We have included this as a resource for families to help bridge the home-school connection. Each month, you will see what habit is being taught, what personal trait in being highlighted, and conversation starters for you and your child. I have attached several pictures below for your convenience. You do not need to sign it each month but hope that it helps your child communicate how they are learning to live a balanced and healthy life inside and outside of school.
