Jackson News & Information
The latest happenings at Jackson Elementary
Week of November 6, 2017
Dear Jackson families,
Parent teacher conferences are here! It is a great time to connect with your child’s teacher and learn important information your child’s progress and growth. If you haven’t already scheduled a conference with your child’s teacher, please contact him or her directly to make arrangements. I strongly encourage you to attend your child’s conference and help continue their success.
Please remember that there is no school on Friday, November 3 for conferences.
Important things to note for next week:
- Fall Book Fair—It’s Fall Book Fair time! Come by the Jackson Library through November 10 and shop a great selection of books, do some early holiday shopping and help support the Jackson library.
- Tiger Trot Awards—For students who helped raise money for our Tiger Trot, individual awards will be given on Monday, November 6. Students who raised $100 or more will be treated to a special pizza party celebration with PTA on Thursday, November 9, beginning at 1:30pm.
- Sonic Night to Benefit PTA--Eat at Sonic (1730 W. Lindsey) on Wednesday, November 8 from 4-8pm and help support the Jackson PTA! 24% of sales will benefit our school, so be sure to let them know that you are there to support Jackson.
- New Construction Open House—Jackson’s new administrative area is nearly complete! The public is invited to join us for an open house on Sunday, November 12 from 2:00-4:00pm to tour the new area and see all the advantages that it brings to our school.
- From Our Health Office—As the weather gets colder and hats and scarfs begin to appear, please remember to check your child’s head occasionally for lice or lice eggs (nits). Lice are most often spread by head to head contact with another person (sleepovers, sharing hats, coats, etc). If you find head lice on one family member, it is recommended to check all the members in your household. Students with live lice must be treated before they can return to school. If you have any questions regarding head lice, please feel free to contact the Jackson office. All inquiries are confidential.
