Worthingway Middle School Updates
I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! I know transitions are difficult, so returning after the Thanksgiving holiday and the move to Remote Learning has presented challenges for some of our students. As a result, we have spent this week working hard to help students acclimate to Remote Learning. I have asked teachers to reach out throughout the week to connect and provide support.
In terms of attendance, we are required to keep attendance during Remote Learning and to send calls to families at the end of the second period of the school day when a student is marked absent in a Remote Learning class. Please call the school office (614-450-4300) to report student absences. We also recognize that technology issues arise and sometimes students are not able to log-in for reasons out of their control. If this happens, please contact the school office (614-450-4300). We will do our best to help and mark attendance accordingly.
If your student is struggling with Remote Learning in any way - technology, understanding, motivation, etc. - please reach out to us and we will help the best we can. To make things easy for you, I suggest you contact your student's Assist teacher. The Assist teacher will connect you and/or your student with the appropriate resources. Our hope is to help streamline communication for you.
Thank you and have a great weekend!

District News - Construction Update
The Worthington School District middle school construction projects are continuing on schedule. When we are able to return to hybrid learning this school year, the plan calls for students and staff at Phoenix/Perry and Worthingway to be in classrooms in the new additions while renovations continue in older parts of each building. We look forward to having all of our middle school students (including sixth graders) start the 2021-2022 school year in the new buildings.
The architects recently shared some photos of the work that has been completed. Take a look at where things stand! Get more information and photos at this webpage.
