THHS - Healthy Youth Survey will be taken on 10/25/2023
Healthy Youth Survey for Grades 6, 8, 10, and 12
Our school district is participating in the Washington State Healthy Youth Survey (HYS) during the month of October. The survey will be given to grade 6, 8, 10, and 12 students. Our schools will administer the survey online this year during a class period within the survey window between now and October 27, 2023.
The HYS includes questions about physical activity and diet, unintentional and intentional injury, substance use, sexual behaviors, abuse, risk and protective factors, and access to school-based services. Survey results are used by schools, school districts, communities, and state agencies to plan programs to support youth and reduce their risks. They also help with funding for these programs.
Participation in the survey is voluntary, and the student’s answers are anonymous. If you would like to opt your child out of participating in the survey, please notify their school. For a list of the questions to be answered, go to https://www.askhys.net/Resources/SurveyQuestionnaires.
For more information about the Healthy Youth Survey, read the Parent Notification Letters at https://www.askhys.net/HYS/AdministrationMaterials. The letters are available in multiple languages.
