The government of Slovakia is a parliamentary democracy which means that the government in which the party (or a coalition of parties) with the greatest representation in the parliament(legislature) forms the government, its leader becoming prime minister or chancellor. The president of Slovakia as of right now is Andrej Kiska who was elected on the 15 of June in 2014.Slovakia is a limited government. Slovaks can vote on their presidents and can be a president if they go into the presidential race that is. The Slovakia government has given out .08 % of their country's total national income to foreign aid. Being the lowest in Europe. The Slovakians have had a rough history with other countries, the roughest being Germany and Russia.
The currency of the Slovak Republic (Slovakia) is Euros. The conversion rate from US dollars to Euros is 1 US dollar is equal to 1.12 Euros (as of right now- 2016).Slovakia is the 45th largest exporting country in the world. The top exports of Slovakia are cars and video displays. The average GDP per capital is 26.5k.Slovakia is not a very wealthy country at all especially compared to the US which has a GDP of 52.8k.
The social and ethnic groups-
children in Slovakia have to go to school from the age of 5 until 19. Though education is free, at least until you get to the university.Just like the united states, woman have equal rights as men.99.6% of children over the age of 15 can read and write.Which probably means that a lot of their money goes towards education and funding. There is more than one ethnic group in Slovakia.including the Hungarians, Romas, and the Czechs. The most major one being the Slovak with 80.7% of the population.
Religion in Slovakia-
The largest and main religion in Slovakia is the roman catholic group with 68.9% of the population. The flag was made on September first 1972.The flags colours stand for unity and independence.
Traditional Holidays or Festivals, Traditional Clothing, and Food-
One of the holidays is the Emergence of Slovakia is held on January 1st every yea.It is celebrating obviously the emergence of Slovakia or the founding of Slovakia.
The clothing of the Slovaks is much different from anybody else's.Especially the united states (t-shirts).A popular dish in Slovakia is bryndzové halušky.The recipe is
- Potatoes – 3 pieces
- Flour – 5 tablespoons (tbsp)
- Egg – 1 piece
- Bryndza (Slovak Sheep Cheese)

Based on this we can come to the conclusion that the people of Slovakia live mostly in rural areas. We can also come to the conclusion that there must be more Roman catholic churches than there are any other church.
