Attendance this week...
Remember: Students must be in attendance at least 90% of the days the class is taught in order to receive credit or a final grade in a class. We appreciate our parents' efforts in helping us minimize student absences and prepare our students for their futures!
Interim Principal Update: A Note From Mr. Tucker
I hope that you enjoyed your break. It was an opportunity for all of us to take a moment and reflect on how fortunate we are. It is precious time with your children, sometimes hard to find in this hectic life.
During the break, I was thinking about my dad. He's been gone a long time, but he and my mom are ever present in my thoughts. He and my mom provided so many life lessons. I wanted to share a couple of thoughts that have served me well as a husband, dad and principal.
Neither parent really spent time preaching to me or my little sister about how to live our lives, other than to regularly point out the importance of education. Rather, they simply lived a life of example. As noted by C.B. Kelland, "My father didn't tell me how to live, he lived, and let me watch him do it." The example was so much more powerful than words alone.
So, as I began parenting, it was important to follow the admonition of H.J. Brown, "Live so that when your children think of fairness and integrity, they think of you."
Best wishes for the remainder of the school year. As we know, it is a mad dash to the end. Hold on for the ride.

Safety Alert
Student safety is our top priority and your observance of these procedures is greatly appreciatedI
DROP-OFF
Car riders are dropped off directly in front of Viking Hall.
- Please make sure your students stay in the car and are ready to quickly exit your vehicle only in front of Viking Hall.
- Also, pull forward in the line to keep our drop-off line running efficiently.
PICK-UP
Car riders will wait to be picked up directly in front of Viking Hall.
Parents who are parked for pick-up in the baseball field parking lots on Bar-K must be waiting for immediate pickup at dismissal.
- To ensure their safety, students must proceed directly to this area using the doors that exit to the faculty parking lot behind the gymnasium.
- Students may cross at the crosswalk only when given clearance by the crossing guard.
- STUDENTS MAY NOT WAIT IN THE AREA BY THE CROSSWALK TO BE PICKED UP. They will be escorted to the pickup line.
Student drop-off and pick-up has been running smoother since we got back from Spring Break - thank you parents for following the signs and helping to keep our students safe.

ESL parents host Noche Mexicana
Save the date.......
Our ESL parents have decided to host a district/community wide Noche Mexicana on Friday, April 28th from 6:00-8:00pm in the grassy area between the High School and the PAC.
Plans are to set it up like a fair or carnival with several different food booths, a craft booth for the kids, a Ballet Folklorico area, a pinata area, maybe a jumpy house.
Our next ESL parent meeting is in the MAC at 8:00 on April 5, and we'll use that meeting to finalize plans for our April 28 fiesta. Please feel free to join us...we're open to suggestions and other ideas!
