What's Happening in PBS?
Week of 10/20-10/24
Hello!
This week we are finishing up the entire first unit! The students are working on their final report over the case of Anna Garcia on Monday and Tuesday. Wednesday, they will be doing 3 more career journals over a Medical Examiner, Morgue Assistant and a Toxicologist.
On Thursday, we will have our big Unit Test. This covers all the information from the first day of school. (they will be getting their review tomorrow). Since we have allowed test re-takes/test corrections on the lesson assessments - there will be NO re-takes/corrections on this Unit test. It is important that the students take time to really study their content thus far to be successful on the test! We want them to show us what they have learned so far this year.
On friday, we will be giving back the results of the test and doing our introduction into our next unit. We will find out Anna has a disease....and we will start figuring out the basics of this aliment.
Also on Friday - HOSA is hosting our first Halloween Party! It will be held after school and we will have pumpkin carving, costume contest, door decorating, fast fashion contest and just a plain good time! We will provide food and entertainment - so the kids just have to show up! If the students can attend, we highly encourage it! We would like as much of a participation as possible! by signing up, we have an idea of how much food to get. Please encourage your students to come!
Also - if you have old costumes you would like to donate for the Fast Fashion Contest - we would appreciate it! We would return them on Friday after the party! Just have your student bring them into my room and we will mark them with your name on them.
Looking forward, parent-teacher conferences are next week. I will be available at the Freshman Center from 3-5pm on Wednesday 10/29. After that, I will be at South. If you can't make that time - please feel free to email me (rweiss@bssd.net) and we can schedule a conference at a different time.
Thanks!
Mrs. Weiss
