Kinnick Stadium is named after him, so I wanted to know more about why the stadium is named after him.

Description
Nile Kinnick was a halfback for the University of Iowa in 1937-39, winning the Heisman Trophy, the Maxwell Award, and the Walter Camp Trophy in 1939. After college, he enlisted in the US Naval Air Reserve during World War ll and was killed during a training flight. Later, the football stadium at Iowa was renamed Kinnick Stadium in his honor.
