School Counselors help 7th Graders Explore Careers!
This week, the school counselors visited seventh grade Social Studies classes to deliver a lesson on Career Exploration. Students were at first assigned a career to see what it would feel like to not have a choice. Then they took a career interest inventory called Matchmaker on the Career Cruising program available on our school website. Please ask them about this lesson. They should be able to show you a purple handout on which they wrote three careers that interested them and they should also be able to log in to Career Cruising through the KP website (in the FOR STUDENTS section) in order to show you their test results or engage in even more in depth career exploration if they so choose. As they show you their profile, you should also be able to see the results of their Learning Styles Inventory, which they took earlier this year. If your child is having difficulty remembering how to log in to the Career Cruising program, please have him/her email or touch base with one of the school counselors for assistance.
