A few important notes...
It seems that every Halloween it is a reminder of the wonderful spirit of the holidays, excited children, music, costumes, autumnal colors and the ever memorable packs of visitors who offer us words and less than kind interactions with anyone who is part of the "welcome committee" on days of parties. It is not uncommon that we find ourselves in sticky situations, delivering messages that are often upsetting to parents and visitors. Due to safety and our district security policy, we no longer have the ability to just change things up on the fly. Though life happens and administration can always make exceptions, our goal is to be as prepared and proactive as possible to avoid these hiccups.
In an effort to ensure that all classrooms have the same exact information, we are asking for everyone to adhere to the following for all classroom parties.
* No more than 5 visitors per homeroom (please communicate this to parents)
* No younger siblings if volunteering (please communicate this to parents)
* No food or goody bags sent home (please communicate this to parents)
* Volunteer lists must be complete in hard copy a week before the party.
* Updated hard copies of the list must come down in person no later than the day before if there are changes.
* A party will not exceed 45 min
* No changes allowed the day of the party
* A class parent should communicate details of the activity being conducted to the teacher for approval prior to the party.
* Parents will not be able to come in until 10 minutes prior to the party start time.
* Electrical devices should not be used during parties including welding guns, blow torches, chainsaws or multiple hairdryers.
* Please try and ensure that a variety of parents have an opportunity to volunteer.
Overall, please have a say and clear understanding of the details of the party ahead of time.
In an effort to help;
You will receive a standard letter to modify as you see fit to be sent to your parents and class moms.
You will receive a standard form to complete with volunteer and party information for the front office.
These tiny little things seem like tidbits of nothing, but when they are all combined together it makes a bit of a situation that never ends well for all. If we are all able to come together as a team to best communicate and remain consistent, it will be a much happier and safer ending for all!
