RICHLAND REFLECTIONS

Week of 4/24/23 at Richland Elementary School

Big picture
Dear Richland Families,

I hope you're enjoying this beautiful weekend. We have an exciting week coming up! Our Knowledge Fair & Leadership Night is Thursday. It is an Open House, so families may come any time between 4:30 and 6:30. See amazing student displays of knowledge, participate in reading and math activities as a family, take a chance on awesome raffle baskets focused on the 7 Habits, and more! All are invited, and students do not need to submit a Knowledge Fair project to attend. Raffle tickets are free to families who attend, and you can earn additional tickets by completing the Leader in Me Survey below and bringing in your completed Family Bingo Board on Thursday! See below for a sneak peek at raffle baskets. Student leaders are also interested in creating a "Then and Now" display, so if you or someone you know is a former Richland student and has stories to share, please do! More details about Thursday's special night are below. And stay for a PTO meeting at 6:30 after the Open House.

English Language Arts PSSA testing for students in grades 3-5 is on Monday through Wednesday this week. Please talk to your child about their adjusted schedule as students in kindergarten through second grades will have their recess and specials in the morning to accommodate AM testing schedules.

We raised over $16,000 in Color Run registrations and donations! Thank you for your generosity. Since we surpassed our $15,000 goal, I will be conducting live announcements from the roof! Check out classroom and individual winners for participation and donations below.

Happy last week of April!

RICHLAND THEN AND NOW

Attention adults! Did you, or someone you know, attend Richland Elementary School years ago? Members of our Student Lighthouse Team are interested in creating a "Richland Then and Now" display for our Knowledge Fair and Leadership Night on April 27. If you have any photos from the past or personal stories & anecdotes to share with us, please complete this form. You can also email Mrs. Coyle at ecoyle@qcsd.org. Thank you!

EARN RAFFLE TICKETS ON LEADERSHIP NIGHT!

Every student has brought home a Leader in Me 7 Habits BINGO board. It has activities for families to do at home that are related to the 7 habits.

If you complete 5 activities in a row, bring this Bingo sheet to our Leadership Night on April 27, 2023. You will receive a raffle ticket at the event. Feel free to complete all the activities. If you do, you will receive 3 raffle tickets!

Have fun practicing the habits with your families!

Next, we have Mrs. Casale's class, who raised the most donations overall and won tickets for free Gelati. Congratulations, Mrs. Casale and your students, for your amazing efforts.

Finally, we have Mrs. Shinskie's class, who had the most registered runners and will be treated to a sweet treat class party. Congratulations, Mrs. Shinskie and your students, for your hard work and dedication.
