What is unsubscribed and blocked
When a contact is listed as "Blocked" on your Mailing List
This means the contact has blocked all communication from you, not just from one of your Mailing Lists.
We can remove the block from our Admin if the contact blocked your newsletters by mistake.
However, due to the CAN-SPAM Act, we first need written permission from the contact before proceeding with unblocking their email address from your Mailing Lists.
To accelerate the process of unblocking your contacts, please follow these steps:
1. Reach out to Support@smore.com and cc the blocked contact.
2. Have the blocked contact respond in the same email thread that they would like to receive your newsletters.
3. We can then move forward with unblocking the contact from your Mailing Lists.
When a recipient chooses to unsubscribe
When a recipient "unsubscribes" or "blocks" communication through Smore, they are opting to not receive emails from you in some capacity.
If a recipient is shown as "unsubscribed" on your Email Report under the Analytics, it means that they have chosen to unsubscribe from receiving newsletters from you.
This recipient will also then appear on your Mailing list as "Blocked"
What if a recipient unsubscribes accidentally?
If a recipient accidentally unsubscribed, they can re-subscribe by going to a previously emailed newsletter, scrolling to the bottom and clicking "unsubscribe from emails." This will open up a browser webpage that says "Unsubscribed by mistake? Resubscribe." Once they click the word "re-subscribe" their email address will no longer appear as "blocked" in your Mailing List and they will be able to receive future newsletters sent from you.
If a recipient has accidentally been blocked, please have them reach out to us at support@smore.com for assistance.
Unsubscribing a recipient
If you would like to unsubscribe a recipient from a specific mailing list, select their email address and then click on the green "unsubscribe button" and select "unsubscribe" on the confirmation pop-up. To remove this, repeat this action and click on the red "remove" button.
Please note that when a recipient unsubscribe themselves, they are blocking their address from all mailing list. However, if you, as the user, unsubscribes them, you will be unsubscribing them from a specific mailing list.
