Parent Pick Up

If you will be utilizing the Parent Pick up line, we ask that you please remain in your vehicle. If your child needs further assistance buckling into their seat please pull forward into a parking space. Remaining in your car allows for the line to move effectively and efficiently. This is for safety in keeping the bus zone clear as well.

Snacks from Home

As a reminder all snacks from home that are to be eaten in the classroom for snack time need to be nut-free and peanut-free. This does not apply to items in a child's lunch if brought from home. Because we have nut-free tables (that are cleaned with separate cleaners and mops), we have processes in place that keep students with severe allergies safe in the cafeteria at lunch. Thank you for partnership in ensuring the safety of each student at Snail Lake!

Fall Fun at Snail Lake

As we enter the month of October, we are gearing up to celebrate fall throughout our school! Stay tuned for announcements from your child's teacher about fun activities they will be enjoying at the end of October. The fun activities students enjoy at school will not involve costumes, so feel free to save those for family fun at your home or in your community!

Did you Know?

An April survey showed “dedicated and talented teachers” are the main reason parents send their children to our schools. See additional survey responses in our summer issue of School Talk: https://www.moundsviewschools.org/Page/11765

Recess Reminders

Each day students will be heading outdoors for recess. Depending on the weather they will get sweaty, dirty, and sometimes wet. Please send your child to school in clothing and shoes that allow your child to move and play comfortably. In addition, please send a second set of clothing in your child's bagpack in case they would need to change.

Elementary Handbook

Our Elementary Handbook (which is common across both K centers and all six elementary schools) has now been translated into the 3 most commonly spoken languages in our community: Spanish, Somali, and Hmong. All four language versions are on our website by going to the Snail Lake website → Parent Resources → Elementary Handbook. This is a useful resource for all families on topics such as attendance, health services, volunteering.
