~If you want to rain on my parade, you'd...
but if you want to put pep in my step, you'd...If you want to rain on my parade you'd make me wake up extra early, but if you want to put a pep in my step you'd take me to the beach.

~When my students graduate, I hope they have this to say about me: I hope students will remember having a teacher who made them feel that their thoughts, ideas, and opinions mattered.

~If you want to rain on my parade, you'd...
but if you want to put pep in my step, you'd...If you wanted to rain on my parade, you'd put a pickle next to my sandwich or give me criticism with no helpful feedback; but if you want to put pep in my step, you'd offer help if needed, a friendly smile, or a compliment.
~Where in the world would you visit? I would like to visit Iceland to see the aurora borealis and glaciers.

~What is your favorite thing about school now? How is it different from when you were a kid? Looking over mistakes and learning from them. When I was a kid, I was TERRIFIED to make mistakes, especially if it was done publicly. And, especially if it was a school mistake. I still cringe a little with the public mistakes :), but I have learned so much about training my brain to overcome challenges and mistakes to grow and learn.
~The top three things the Wiley family should know about me are... 1 - I have a really supportive and loving family. I talk about my 2 daughters and my husband with my students a lot. My Iowa family members (back home where I grew up), although far away, are amazing, too!
2 - My sister is a teacher, my husband is a professor at NC State, my mother-in-law is a teacher's assistant in Wayne County, my college friends are teachers, etc. I have a really supportive "education family" that help me grow and learn. My Wiley family is added to that mix now, too!
3 - When I tell people where I work, they have really positive things to say about our school. It makes me feel good and like I'm in the right place.
~When my students graduate, I hope they have this to say about me: Mrs. Davis NEVER gave up on me. She cared about me and wanted me to always do my best no matter how difficult the task. She taught me to persevere and to be determined, especially when facing challenges. She motivated me to want to learn.

By getting to know other cultures and traditions, we realize that we are all in this together and that we have more in common than what divides us.
~What is your favorite thing about school now? How is it different from when you were a kid? I love that instruction is differentiated and takes every student into account.
