Izzy Murfield
Yes
homework is harmful it's time consuming, stressful, and unhealthy. Even if teachers use it to enforce and help students learn its still damaging, unfavorable, and hurtful to students.
Time consuming.
After spending half of the day in school, students are given additional assignments to be completed at home. Reaserch shows that students tend to spend more then 3 hours doing homework after school.
Awful STRESS & Dangerous HEALTH
A new study by Stanford Collage shows that some students who do more than three hours of homework a night are negatively impacted by having high stress levels and physical health problems. “We found a clear connection between the students' stress and physical impacts migraines, ulcers and other stomach problems, sleep deprivation and exhaustion, and weight loss." co-author Denise Pope told CNN.
Even for teachers it's bad!
Teachers end up give students loads of homework, but when they get home they're the ones who spend hours, even days grading papers, " The workload becomes more manageable, but the hardest and, most stressful and distressing part of the job is grading students' work. It's the part of the job that, induces the greatest uncertainty, discomfort, and angst." Author Jon Tierny writes in his artical 'Why Teachers Secretly Hate Grading Papers.' In the magazine The Atlantic.
