Career Advance Colorado and Workforce Programs
With Career Advance Colorado, through your local community or technical college, you can get free training in nursing, firefighting, and other rewarding fields that move Colorado forward. Starting in August 2023, students who enroll in one of the following training programs will have their tuition, fees, course materials, and other costs covered while funding is available:

3. Early Childhood Education
4. Firefighting
5. Forestry
6. Law Enforcement
7. Nursing

Opus Creative Industries offers three unique workforce programs where students can get paid while they learn: Early Childhood Enrichment Training, Culinary & Hospitality, and CreativeTechnology where students learn about various media art programs.
Class of 2024
Community Service: A reminder to seniors that the required 30 hours of community service and 3 papers are due by the end of the third quarter on March 15. Hours and papers are logged in the Community Service (x2VOL) link found on the TCA Intranet page and under the Family tab on the TCA website if logging in from home. If you need help, refer to this Helpful Hints sheet or stop by Connections and talk to Mrs. Hoffman.
Senior Families, be sure you are checking your emails and the websites of your college(s) to find out how those institutions are supporting students with Award Letters and Acceptance Deadlines. Please contact us if you have any questions.

Scholarships, Awards and Other Financial Aid Information
Colorado Mesa University is offering Distinguished Scholarships providing full in-state tuition and other merit scholarships for incoming freshmen. Check the website for eligibility.
Florida State University's Service Scholar program recognizes students with an outstanding record of community service and leadership who want to continue that commitment at FSU. Deadline to apply is February 23.
Pikes Peak Kiwanis is offering the Jack Agee Memorial Scholarship for seniors who plan to attend a college within the borders of Colorado with $10,000 over 4 years, or $1250/semester. The deadline to apply is March 15.
Enrichment
The Santa Clara University School of Engineering is offering two in-person programs for Spring, SEEDs, and Summer, SES for Sophomores & Juniors interested in learning more about the field of engineering.
Rhode Island School of Design is offering Summer Pre-College Programs. Space is limited, apply now.
Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute is offering PREFACE, a summer Design Engineering program for students interested in pursuing a career in engineering or technology who are part of groups that have been historically underrepresented or underserved in science, engineering, and other technological fields. Deadline to apply is April 19.
Schoolhouse SAT Bootcamp is a free 4-week SAT virtual tutoring bootcamp. The bootcamp is offered at no-cost as part of a research study and learners may be asked to complete study tasks including surveys, short exercises, and focus groups. Parental consent is required.
College Spotlight
At the Rhode Island School of Design all first-year undergraduate students benefit from and follow Experimental and Foundation Studies, a shared studio curriculum. Courses encourage students to take risks, test theories, challenge ideas, and go beyond their initial ideas.
Majors Spotlight: Textile Design
At the Rhode Island School of Design students can major in Textile Design where they manipulate fabric and fiber to produce unique and expressive tapestries and master the basic elements of textiles such as layering, pattern and dyeing. Graduates with a Textile Design degree work in a broad range of fields such as fashion and apparel design, textile design, styling, buying, visual merchandising, freelance textile artistry and more.
