MST Weekly Update
January 27, 2023
Today is the end of the 2nd quarter for all of our high school classes and the end of the first semester for our CTE classes. With back-to-back snow days, the end of the quarter/semester was extended by two days. Teachers have until the middle of next week to calculate and record grades. Report cards will hopefully be distributed the week of February 6th.
11th Grade Assessment Information
All 11th grade students will be taking the SAT exam in March (22nd, 23rd or 24th). The SAT exam is administered at no cost to the students, and it provides valuable information for the student and the school. Even if a student is not considering attending college at this time, it will valid if they change their mind later.
Late in the spring (April or May), 11th graders will be taking the NH Science Assessment Exam.
Please see the attached letter for more information.
Bonfire Postponed
The bonfire scheduled for tonight (1/27) has been postponed. The new date will be announced in the near future. We are looking at evening in the early spring when it will be a bit warmer.
Graduation Time Set
MST's graduation for the Class of 2023 will be at 8:00 AM on June 17th at the SNHU arena. Doors will open at 7:40 AM. Tickets will not be required for this event, so there is no limit on the number of guests that you can invite.
CTE/MST High School Grade Information Night
MST will have a CTE/8th Grade Information Night this Thursday February 2nd, from 5:30-7:30.
CTE Information Night is an opportunity for all 9th and 10th grade students from Manchester and surrounding towns to visit our school and our CTE programs. Many teachers will be available to explain their programs and answer questions. CTE course selection will occur in early February for all MSTHS 9th grade students.
MST High School Information Night is for any 8th grade student, and their parent/guardian, who is interested in attending MST as a full-time student starting in the fall of 2023.
MST High School is a full time 4-year high school open to all Manchester students. Our school utilizes project-based learning and competency grading. Students can apply to attend MST as an option to attending the other Manchester high schools. The application is below and must be submitted by February 17rth. High School information sessions will be held in the Brennan Center at MST at 5:45 PM and 6:45 PM
The snow date will be Thursday February 9th
New Date and Venue for the 2023 Prom
The 2023 MST prom has been rescheduled to Friday May 19th from 6:30 PM-10:00 PM. It will be held at The Farmhouse at Candia Woods golf course. It is a beautiful facility that was recently renovated. More information about ticket sales will be coming later in the spring.
Vaping Information
Last week I shared this information about the hazards of vaping and resources to quit. Vaping is very common amongst teens, so I want to share this again just in case you missed it last week.
