A Message from the Office of the Superintendent
As our school district continues to see a significant drop in COVID cases that is consistent with our area and we are seeing all organizations relax protocols across the country, the district will be transitioning to "Green" status. We will continue to monitor cases closely and be mindful of our response to our school district and community case count. Our "Return to Learn" plan continues to be on our website, but our "Green" plan is the least restrictive of our responses. Our fingers are crossed that Spring is just around the corner and we are hopeful that sickness and cold weather are behind us. This year has certainly been a whirlwind, but we are excited about the accomplishments of our students and looking forward to the great things in store for the rest of the school year. We are very excited about the progress that continues at our new Early Childhood Center and we can't wait to see students occupying that space next fall. Spring is a particularly busy time of year from the school district's perspective. Teachers and students are gearing up for end-of-year assessments, activities, field trips, summer school planning, and much more. A couple of items to be watching for will be our summer school enrollment information and PK & Kindergarten screening information. It is very important that families fill out this information so that the district can provide a great experience for all interested students. While I have said it before, I continue to be so appreciative of our community and the support shown to our school district, teachers, staff, and students. We are so proud to serve Marshfield.

We are excited to announce the transition of Mrs. Stacy Robinson from high school math teacher to 6-12 Instructional Coach and District Test Coordinator for the 2022-2023 school year. Over the last 19 years, Stacy has taught all levels of high school mathematics for the Marshfield District including dual credit courses and served as an adjunct professor for OTC at their Lebanon location. Mrs. Robinson graduated from Drury University with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics & Secondary Education and then earned a Masters Degree in Mathematics from Missouri State University and went on to complete a Specialist in Education in Curriculum Director from Arkansas State University. Stacy is married to her husband, Bryant and they both grew up in Marshfield. They have been married for almost 19 years and have two boys, Bennett 8 and Tarren 12. As a family, they like to spend time on the lake, travel and try new foods.
Mrs. Robsinson will serve alongside Dr. KyAnne Weaver during the 2022-2023 school year to support 6-12 teachers in best-practices in instruction as well as facilitate the district's assessment planning and management."
If you have traveled down Locust Street recently, you have noticed the Early Childhood Center has taken shape. The exterior framing has been completed on the classroom wing, and the pre-engineered metal building of the main entrance is in progress. The pre-engineered metal building for the main entrance and office areas has been erected and will soon be framed. Mechanical, electrical, and plumbing work has started in the classroom wing and will continue while interior framing is taking place. Please continue to be mindful of project contractors entering and exiting traffic near the job site. Overall, progress continues to go smoothly, with some slowdowns due to inclement weather.
Visit the Marshfield ECC Project page on the district webpage to learn more. You’ll find videos, monthly progress reports, and a timeline of the expected progress through our planned opening in August of 2022.
Shook Cool Coders
Marshfield was given the opportunity to participate in the Missouri State CODERS (Computer Science Opportunities, Development, and Education in Rural Schools) Project as well as 13 other rural schools through a five year grant. During last summer, teachers from Shook and the Junior High attended a week-long camp to bring back computer science/programming skills and coding to our district.
Ms. McCord’s 5th grade class hosted Professor Cornelison and his graduate students three times in the fall. They facilitated hands-on science lessons that were then coded. Students developed the code for their projects in a program called Scratch from MIT. These skills have been used in math, reading, and writing projects throughout the school year.
