WHAT IS A HURRICANE?

A hurricane is a large storm that forms over warm ocean water with very strong winds.

SAFTY TIPS

During a hurricane, you should stay in a small room with no windows. Also have a can opener, canned food, water, a flashlight, batteries, a first-aid kit, and a weather radio

A tornado is a large, funnel-shaped cloud that can tear down houses and pick up cars.

Unlike a hurricane, a tornado is only about 10 to 15 minutes long!

A thunderstorm is a large storm with rain, thunder, lightning, and strong winds.

During a thunderstorm, you should stay inside and as close to ground as you can get because lightning goes for the highest objects first.
