Facts;
Marbury vs. Madison
This case occured after the crazy elections of 1800. Thomas Jefferson had won the presidency, and controlelled both houses of Congress. President John Adams filled those posts with Federalists very quickly. William Marbury's commission had not been delivered for a while now. The Chief Justice (John Marshall) refused Marbury's request. Marshall's opinion was based on its own term which is the supreme law of the land.
