DAY OF SERVICE OFFERS MANY EXCITING OPPORTUNITIES
PLAN TO ATTEND Reveille's Day of Service on Saturday, October 17th from 9:00 am - 12 noon. This special day offers all ages a unique opportunity to participate in a wide variety of ministry opportunities and learn more about Reveille's many outreach ministries. The entire SPIRIT Team looks forward to seeing you there! This newsletter highlights some of the areas where you can serve, learn and grow.
MAKE A DIFFERENCE AT SWANSBORO ELEMENTARY
While you are attending the Day of Service on Saturday, October 17th, come to the Swansboro Ministry room and find out about the exciting events taking place at Swansboro Elementary. Swansboro has a new principal, new CIS coordinator and lots of excitement as they start the new school year. You can sign up to be a mentor, lunch buddy, classroom reader or help with small reading groups known as the "Reader's Cafe." There will also be information about Reveille's partnerships with Love Center of Unity Church and Koinonia Christian Church. You will have the opportunity to learn more about the weekly music lessons Reveille volunteers offer in Swansboro, the Koinonia Girl Scout program and other community events. Don't miss the Swansboro room on the 17th. For more information about Swansboro ministry events, contact Kathy Rainey at csrainey1@verizon.net

LEARN MORE ABOUT REVEILLE'S PRISON MINISTRY
The book of Matthew tells us "...I was in prison, and you visited me." Be a reflection of Christ's love as you support Reveille's prison ministry. On Saturday, October 17th you will have the opportunity to make graduation cards for the inmates in the Chesterfield Women's Detention Center and find out more about this important ministry. You will learn how the VBS children make folders for the women and how Reveille collects toiletries, Christmas cards and stamps each year. Reveille has also supported the restocking of the library at the center. Be sure to make the Prison Ministry room one of your stops during the Day of Service while you take a few moments to reach out to these inmates with the hands of Christ. For more information on Reveille's prison ministry, contact Donna Fay Kessel at donnakessel@verizon.net
WORLD HUNGER RELIEF OPPORTUNITY
Saturday, October 17th is the date to make a difference in international hunger relief. Be part of the amazing process of packaging 20,000 meals in one morning for Stop Hunger Now! This international relief organization sends nutritious meals to those in need all over the world. Bring your family and friends to work for a small amount of time that yields amazing results. Plan to be surprised at how many meals are packaged!! This is a fun and worthwhile project for groups of families, Sunday school classes and friends to accomplish together. Volunteers who've helped with this program in the past have learned how much fun and enjoyment can be found in service together. Please register for this ministry on the Reveille UMC website at www.reveilleumc.org
