Crazy Doc's rant and raves...
This is bound to be an emotional week as we return to our classes to gather and prepare for summer, reflecting on what we missed. Celebrate those memories, those successes! Focus on what we were able to accomplish instead of what was missed.
If you need me, I am only a phone call away, I try to answer if I am available. I am also in the main Bingham canvas conference page most days 2:00 - 3:30.
My goal for you is to shut down your computer at the end of the work day and enjoy your time. Please stay away from your device as much as possible when you are not teaching.
Please make sure you are reading the SPS at Home daily annoucements, there is so much information in these annoucements to support you as you are adapting to this new way of learning.
This is a google doc where I will try to keep information updated. Please let me know if there is anything you wish were on here.

Teacher Spotlight
Thank you Mrs. Kroenke for the amazing, uplifting, and fabulous "Bingham Strong" art. You do such an amazing job bringing beauty and love into our school!
May 1 is School Lunch Hero Day - thank you to all of the wonderful people who are working to keep our students fed at this time, you are our superheros!
Thank you to Michel, Amy, and Genevieve you were asked an impossible question this week and still poured your heart and mind into it. You are amazing!
I encourage you to send text/email/snail mail/phone call to another teacher in a different building/district this week. Tell them how great they are doing!
Do you have a idea for a person in the spotlight? Please let me know.
Device Updates
April 29, 2020
SPS Staff:
We appreciate your hard work to provide learning instruction and other support to our community over these past few challenging weeks. With the last day of school approaching on May 21, the IT department is implementing plans for a successful conclusion to the current school year. We are also preparing to provide support for when you begin the 2020-2021 school year in August.
This message provides details on how to address important technology support between now and May 21. Please review the following expectations as we close out the school year.
Certified Teachers, Counselors and Librarians
- Each certified teacher, counselor and librarian is asked to report to a school site at a specific day/time for support with key updates to their district-issued laptop.
- We have scheduled opportunities for certified staff to visit Parkview or Kickapoo to perform these technology updates and also receive support from IT technicians, as needed. Please view the schedule here.
- These necessary updates are anticipated to take approximately 30 minutes for most staff members. We have allocated two hours to ensure support can be provided, should the need arise.
- Please review this schedule to see when and where to report for completion of technology updates. This schedule was created to limit the number of staff members on site at any given time to ensure social distancing rules are followed, and to allow the IT department to provide a high level of support.
- Our goal is to ensure you are set up for success - both over the summer and as you return to school in the fall.
- The scheduled dates/times are important, as they are designed to provide the support necessary to avoid disruptions to your work. However, if you are unavailable to report at any of the specific date/time options (including the make-up dates), you will need to install these technology updates when you are onsite working at your school.
Exiting Staff
- Any staff member concluding their employment with the district should provide their issued devices to their direct supervisor with other materials, including name badges and keys, at the appropriate time.
Questions/Concerns?
- Please feel free to reach out to the Help Desk at 523.4357 with any questions or concerns about this process.

Some Good News - great new youtube show we need right now.
Master Classes
I haven't actually tried MasterClass yet. However, I have just finished listening to "The Great Courses" class entitled "How to Read and Understand Shakespeare." Sawyer and I listened to it as we walked around and around our neighborhood (hopefully he retained a little more than I did). I absolutely love audible.com and they offer free books if you're a new member.
