Postville was full of Jews, Hispanics, and Americans with all different sets of culture.

Assimilation

All the people of the town saw came to see themselves as American, even though they had different cultures and backgrounds.

Racism- Postville residents were scared of the Mexicans and feared for the safety of their children.

Residential Segregation

The Postville residents didn't want the Hispanics to move into town, so they raised the prices of their homes, hoping that they would stay in their trailers.

Barrioization

Many Hispanics moved to Postville, looking for jobs offered by the Jews in their meat processing plant.
