Are you interested in Mentoring?
Do you have flexibility in your work schedule, love working with kids, and want to invest in our future? I have the perfect opportunity for you. Consider being part of LSC,
'"Eagles Take Flight" Mentor program.
Through this program you will be able to build a relationship with 1 or more of our amazing scholars (once a week, biweekly, or as much as you can for 30-45mins).
This is such an amazing experience for our Scholars to connect with another important adult to support in the whole child approach.
If you or someone you know is interested, feel free to fill out the application below and I will follow up with next steps.

STEM-Focused Learning Community
Happy Sunday! As we continue in our pursuit to be a STEM-focused learning community, one thing you’ll see more of in communications between the school & home to engage families specifically in STEM. To that end, this week, we will be continuing to implement the following 3 strategies - all of which will be done virtually after hours when you have that time with your special scholar (s):
- Mondays - Look for a STEM read aloud via Facebook Live at 6 pm.
- Tuesdays-Thursdays - Look for a STEM dinner question to be posted at 6 pm on all platforms, including Dojo, to ask your scholar (s).
- Fridays - Look for the STEM challenge to be posted on all platforms, including Dojo, designed for families to work through the Engineering Design Process using materials around the house. Families who post pictures of the final design with a few short sentences describing their STEM adventures by 8 pm on Sundays will be given volunteer hour service time.
- On Mondays, we will recognize a group of scholars who participated in the previous week’s activities (dinner questions, read aloud, & weekend challenge) for a special treat.
Dear VIP's
We need your help as we prepare for the next school year. Please complete the 2023-2024 Scholar Intent to Return Form to confirm your scholar's spot here at LSC. If you have multiple scholars, please complete a separate form for each one. Reach out to our Scholars Services Coordinator, Ashley Cook at acook@libertysteamcharter.org with any questions. We appreciate your assistance in helping to make sure we are prepared to continue to give our scholars a world-class education.

Nurse Katy Ardis
Welcome back from our extended weekend! I hope everyone rested and took time for self-care. Tomorrow is the first day of Spring and it’s time to rid ourselves of those winter blues! Mental health can have an impact on those of all ages, and it’s important that we take time to ensure that we take care of our mental health. We need to ensure that our scholars are healthy in all aspects to ensure they are learning to the best of their potential, and if there is ever any concern, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me. We have several resources at LSC that may be beneficial in getting our scholars in the best of health!
Please keep scholars' home if they have had a fever within the last 24hrs and required fever reducing medication, any vomiting or new onset/worsening cough. Reminder, Nurse Katy’s lost and found is overflowing! I have a lot of items that are not Liberty uniform items and a few Liberty jackets/hoodies. Please email Nurse Katy at kardis@libertysteamcharter.org with a description of your scholar’s jacket and if it’s a Liberty item color/size of item.
