The First Adventure

In his early thirties, Robert Falcon Scott attempted to reach Antarctica with Ernest Shackleton on their ship, the discovery. They nearly reached the South Pole and had gone about 483 kilometres further than anyone else. They had only 772 kilometres to go until they reached the South Pole. In 93 days they had covered 1445 kilometres but were forced to turn back.
