The origin of the colony and it's events
-It was founded on March 3, 1636.
-Originally known as the river colony, it was used for expansion of the Bay Colony until John Trumbull was elected governor
- Connecticut then gained freedom
-Thomas hooker was named "father of Connecticut and was a Puritan minister who gave a haven place for Puritan men
-The colony was named after the Connecticut River.

-it is known for its production of Americas first cigar, man-made comb, factory-made hats, plows, matches and the nations first commercial telephone exchange.
-it was the fifth colony to be established
Thomas hooker
-Unhappy with the government in Massachusetts and how puritans were controlling it. Took 100
settlers that had agreed with his views.
