Message from the Principal
Good evening Spartans,
As we return from a well-deserved Veterans Day break, I want to take this opportunity to express my deepest gratitude to all the veterans who have served our country with honor and sacrifice. Their unwavering commitment to protecting our freedom is an inspiration to us all.
In recognition of their service, our school's Main Attraction Show Choir had the distinct honor of performing on the USS Midway Museum on Veterans Day. This incredible opportunity allowed our students to pay tribute to our veterans firsthand and share their musical talents with an appreciative audience. I am incredibly proud of their dedication and professionalism.
On the gridiron, our varsity football team continues to make us proud. Last Friday they defeated Olympian High School in the quarterfinals of the CIF Division IV playoffs, securing a spot in the semifinals. This victory is a testament to the hard work, determination, and teamwork of our student-athletes and their coaches. Congratulations to the entire team on this remarkable achievement! This Friday we host Westview High School, hopefully you can all come out to cheer the team on to victory.
In the realm of music, our very own Band Director, Mr. Doerr, recently hosted a successful band tournament at Otay Ranch High School. This event brought together talented bands from across the region, showcasing their musical excellence and fostering a spirit of camaraderie. Congratulations to Mr. Doerr and the Spartan Legion for organizing such a remarkable event.
As we look ahead, I am excited to announce that our band will be participating in the SUHSD band pageant this Thursday and the SCSBOA Band Championships in Riverside this upcoming weekend. I wish them the best of luck as they continue to showcase their musical talents on a larger stage.
Thank you to the entire Chula Vista High School community for your unwavering support of our students, faculty, and staff. Together, we are creating a school culture that is both academically rigorous and supportive, where students can thrive and achieve their full potential.
Sincerely,
Julio Alcala
Principal

SCPA at Chula Vista High School
This weekend it was brought to my attention that several school-connected social media accounts provided some misinformation regarding our Sweetwater District Board of Trustees voting on the elimination of our 8 period schedule at tomorrows Board meeting. This information is simply not correct! The 8 period schedule or the future of the SCPA are not on the agenda. I have included a link to the meeting agenda for your reference.
The SCPA program has been a part of Chula Vista High School for many generations, and will continue to provide a top quality education in the arts for years to come. As the past Principal of Chula Vista Middle School and now Chula Vista High School, both SCPA schools, I will continue to support all of our faculty, staff and students as they pursue their passion.

#2 South 100, drop off point is the parking lot in front of the GYM.
#3 Youth Center, drop off point is the Youth Center parking lot on L street (before school program)

These areas will also serve as pick up points for students after school. For the safety of all, please make sure you observe all traffic patterns and rules. Also please note, supervision on campus will begin at 8:00am when the main campus gates are open. If you need to drop off your student earlier, please drop them off on gate 3, our Youth Center entrance starting at 7:15am.
