**NEW** ATTENDANCE LINK
Breakfast NOW served at Trillium Creek!
Breakfast will be served in our gym at the round tables for all students who choose to eat their morning meal at school. Service begins each morning at 7:35 and ends at 7:50, and is available to everyone. The meal price is $1.95. If on the Free and Reduced program, those benefits will also apply to breakfast. The menu is available on our website. Just go to Quick Links + Parents + Breakfast/Lunch Menu and you can see the breakfast menu along with our lunch menu.
New Morning Meeting Routine
To reduce morning traffic congestion, to allow time to serve breakfast, and to reduce the number of late students arriving for school, we are opening our supervised gym at 7:35 AM each morning. All students will be able to enter our gym and either sit with their class for morning meeting, or obtain a breakfast and take a seat at one of our tables.
Morning Meetings take place on Mondays and includes all K-5 students. Tuesday through Friday, our Fifth graders may travel independently to their classrooms beginning at 7:40. K-4 students will remain in the gym, joining their classmates, for brief Morning Gatherings that will end no later than 7:50 AM. Our intention is for all students to begin their academic day as early as possible.
Because we are now serving breakfast in the area where adults gathered, we need to ask parents to please refrain from attending Morning Meeting unless your child is leading or performing as part of the program, or unless they are receiving an award or recognition. We simply do not have the room to hold a whole school assembly, provide breakfast and accommodate a parent audience.
As with any change, we will undoubtedly need to make adjustments as we proceed. Thank you for your patience and for your cooperation in his process.
Reminders......
*Umbrella's are allowed to use to and from school but not allowed out on the playground during the day.
*Students are allowed in the building at 7:35 AM. School begins at 7:50. You will be marked tardy after 7:50.
*All visitors/volunteers must enter through the front doors and sign in at the office into our Help Counter system.
*If you have an item that needs to be dropped off to your child, please let the office do that for you. It's less interruption for the classroom. Items would include: snacks, coats, binders, library books, lunch, etc. We have Trillium Creek staff that deliver items throughout the day.

Counselor Connection
Hello everyone! I’m Ms. Ramos and I’m the school counselor. During the month of October, I’ve been teaching counseling lessons to all grade levels around the topic of emotional awareness and regulating emotions. I’ve been very impressed with the conversations I’ve had with students about what strategies work best for them when they’re feeling strong or having big emotions.
To continue the conversation at home you could ask your student(s):
- What did you learn during the counseling lesson(s)?
- What helps you to calm yourself down?

Frequently Asked Questions about Head Lice
How do I get ride of head lice when our family is affected?
The best attack is to check every one in the family at the same time to be sure all affected individuals receive treatment.
If you chose to use lice treatment products, use them only as directed. These are strong insecticides and should not be misused.
The eggs are difficult to see and remove if you are unfamiliar with them. They are the size of a sesame seed and contain live lice larvae. When the nit hatches, a new louse is now on the move and eating. Their heat and food source is on the scalp. Within one week they are mature enough to reproduce and the cycle continues.
Vacuuming is also a very important factor. If the louse has crawled onto the bed or furniture, it can stay alive without a food source for 24 hours. You must vacuum all of the upholstery in the home, the beds, carpets, and car before anyone else sits on them to prevent spread in the household.
Laundry is also important. Any clothes that have been worn or touched by clothes of the affected person must be washed in hot water and dried in a hot dryer to kill active lice you can put all of the laundry in trash bags, seal them tight, store them outside of the house and wash them when you get to them.
When can my child return to school after having head lice?
They can return when they are bug free (which is the recommendation of the CDC, Harvard School of Public Health, American Academy of Pediatrics, National Association of School Nurses, and Oregon Health Department). Please come with your student to school upon their return and one of the trained school staff will check them prior to their return to the classroom. We will check again on Day 7 and Day 14.
Do I need to notify the school when my child gets head lice?
Yes. That is the only way we can help you to stop the problem quickly and to check any other contacts when appropriate to do so.
