Mr. Merz greets his students at the door allowing for non-verbal or verbal opportunity to positively interact with his students. It allows for teachers to give behavior specific praise such as "Thank you for entering quietly Tommy." and/or ask a relationship building question such as "How was the soccer game yesterday?". Ms. Pope has students line up outside her room and greets each individual student as they enter!
