A Message From The Superintendent
Dear School Community,
During the past several weeks our students have worked hard and achieved many great things both in and out of the classroom. Among these accomplishments,
Forty-seven Spring Hill High School band students made first division ratings at the UIL Solo & Ensemble competition. Three Solos and Six Ensembles are advancing to State.
High School One Act Play qualified to advance to the Bi-District level of competition. This is the first time in seven years we have reached this level of competition.
Twenty-one members of the Junior High Math/Science Team, and eleven members of the High School Math/Science Team qualified to advance to the State Meet.
The Primary & Intermediate UIL Academics team brought home the District title. The students who placed showed much excitement as they were recognized at the most recent School Board Meeting, and there was a strong display of parent support for their efforts.
Students, please know that we are very proud of you! To our staff and parents, thank you for playing an important role in their success. There is much more greatness ahead!
Sincerely,
Penny

Coach Of The Day
As a reward for being top producers in the recent American Heart Association’s Kids Heart Challenge, four Spring Hill Intermediate students had the opportunity to serve as Coach of the Day. Third graders Penelope Weber and Colton Norris, fourth grader Zelia Listenbee, and fifth grader Logan Sullivan were given special Coach of the Day shirts and “employee” name badges to wear as they lead P.E. classes throughout the day.
The Spring Hill ISD Board of Trustees recently approved the 2022 - 2023 District Calendar. The calendar was selected based on input from employees and community members through the District Site-Base Committee.
The calendar is based on a five full-day instructional week. "Half day Fridays have served our district well. They allowed time for teachers to maintain in-person and virtual classrooms, supplemental student instruction as required by House Bill 4545, and Reading Academies," said Superintendent Penny Fleet. "However, the consensus is that it is time to revert to a full-day Friday schedule that will allow for maximum instructional time."
Significant dates on the 2022 - 2023 calendar include:
August 11 - First Day for Students
September 5 - Student and Staff Holiday In Observance of Labor Day
September 19 - Student Holiday / Staff Professional Development Day

Kids Heart Challenge
Spring Hill Primary participated in the American Heart Association's Kids Heart Challenge. During the challenge students learned about ways to keep their hearts healthy, and raised money to help others through American Heart Association research.
"We have a student/friend named Natalie Shoopman who has had several heart surgeries," said Amy Doron, Student Services Coordinator at Spring Hill Primary. "So as we learned about how Jump Rope for Heart helps others, we remembered how we can help friends like Natalie."
Students at the Primary campus exceeded their goal and raised $12,812.88! The top three earners were second grader Jace Hobson, and first graders Mills Jaap and Caleb Dean.

Today, kindergarten students at Spring Hill Primary participated in Glow Day! Classrooms were transformed with black lights and neon decorations. Read Across America
Spring Hill Primary celebrated Read Across America and Dr. Suess’s influence on literacy with a pajama day and read-a-thon recently. “At Spring Hill Primary, we value a firm foundation in reading and literacy,” said Deanna Turner, Spring Hill Primary Principal. “Over the years, we have seen the benefits reading has had on building students’ imaginations, broadening their vocabulary, and providing students with an understanding of our world.”
