🪴 Espy’s Garden Club Plants Seeds For Student Growth 📈
A few years ago, Fourth Grade Teacher Karie Janus developed a love for monarch butterflies. She brought that passion to her Espy students and created the Nature Nerd Club. Hoping to spark an interest in the students, Ms. Janus has been overjoyed at how much interest the students have shown in learning about everything from bird identification to gardening. With the backing of her principal and the support from an NEF grant, the Espy Butterfly Garden is now complete and ready to support monarch butterflies.

Physical Form Changes Beginning 2023-2024 Athletic Season
Missouri State High School Activities Association (MHSAA) has announced changes for the upcoming 2023-2024 athletic season regarding physicals for athletes.
Athletes must still complete all physical documentation (preparticipation and annual requirements forms) by their doctor but only need to turn in the last page of the MSHSAA Preparticipation Physical Forms/Procedure (MSHSAA Medical Eligibility Form) to their respective school on FinalForms.
Physicals are still valid for two years from the date of examination. The annual requirements document must still be completed yearly. Both documents need to be filed on FinalForms.

Baseball Teacher Appreciation Night and Mother's Day Pitch Events this Week
Monday, May 8 is a home game vs. Bolivar, and it is the annual 'Teacher Appreciation Night.' Each baseball player will pick a teacher to throw out a first pitch to them before the game. Wednesday, May 10 is the last home game vs. Hillcrest, and it will be 'Mother's Day' first pitch, where all the mom's from both teams will throw out a first pitch to their sons. The game will start at 4:30 p.m., so I'd be there by 3:45 p.m.
