Tech News and Notes- 5/4/15
Check out some Tech Tips and News for K-3 Classrooms
On April 16th, K-5 parents were invited to Tech U@OGS where they attended sessions about the Oak Grove student iPads. They were able to see their child's iPad, tap through some of the apps. They attended sessions led by Oak Grove teachers on Google Apps for Education and Apple Apps, Showbie, and the built in iPad features such as AirDrop and the Camera.
Thank you to Jenifer Alghini, Mary Rigali, Dan Henneberry, Casey Dugan, Kelly Sweeney, Heather McCarty for attending and hosting sessions.
Explain Everything is a popular app in the K-5 classrooms. Recently, there have been some updates that are pretty cool and easy to incorporate into student creations.
- Triple tap images to group and ungroup on a slide. See the how to video here! It took me a minute to get the taps right, but I'm sure your students could do it in seconds! :)
- Morris Cooke, the creators of Explain Everything, have a great blog explaining features and updates of the app if you are looking for explanations or tutorials. A link to their website is here.
- The price for Explain Everything was originally $2.99, but it has dropped to $0.99 with a special promotion that Apple is running. What a deal if you are looking for a great creation app for your own children or grandchildren. Check it out in the App Store here.
