Biography Presentations

Please remember that biography presentations are this Friday at 8:00, and parents are invited. If you need to slip out as soon as your child completes his or her presentation, please feel free to do so. Also, if you would like your child to be placed near the beginning or end to accommodate your work schedule, please email me and let me know.

I am re-sending a copy of the biography book report letter I sent out a few weeks ago in case you have misplaced yours. Also, I will allow time to change clothes after the presentations, so please send in a change of clothes for your child if needed.

Language Arts

Today in spelling we talked about when to drop the final e when adding a suffix. In words with the long vowel and silent e pattern (hike), the final e is dropped before adding a suffix that begins with a vowel (hiking).

This week in language arts we will continue reading tall tales, and biographies. In writing, we are revising and editing "I Am" poems.

This week, we will be reviewing for MAP testing next week, as well as working in Chapter 11 of My Math on measurement. There will not be a fact test this week, due to biography presentations on Friday.

Social Studies/Science

This week, we will continue discussing westward expansion and slavery.
