Stay tuned for additional details coming soon. | Gananda Youth Triathlon Set for May 11, 2019 Gananda's Spring Fling Youth Triathlon is back for 2019! After a year hiatus due to construction, we are excited to bring back this special athletic event for our local youth on Saturday, May 11. The triathlon consists of swimming, biking, and running events where racers can compete individually or as part of a relay team. All students, from any school district, in grades 3-12 are invited to participate. The deadline for registration is Wednesday, May 1, 2019. Please visit the Gananda website for more information. Gananda Parent Teacher Organization to Host Meet the Board Candidates
There are three vacancies on the Gananda Board of Education due to the expiration of terms. Five candidates have submitted nominating petitions so their names will appear on the May 21 ballot; John Edlund, Greg Giles (incumbent), Steve Nims (incumbent), Chuck Rothfuss (incumbent) and Patti Walker. The Gananda Parent Teacher Organization invites you to meet the candidates on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at 6:00 p.m., Ruben A. Cirillo High School, Board Room/room #135. Richard Mann Celebrates National Physical Fitness and Sports Week May 1-7
Richard Mann Elementary is celebrating National Physical Fitness and Sports Week May 1 through May 7, and we want our Richard Mann families to join in on the fun too! We are asking that each of our elementary students and their families participate in special activities during the week to promote healthy lifestyles. On Monday, April 29, students will receive a form with a designated activity to do as a family each day of the physical fitness and sports week -- things like take a bike ride, or have a dance party. Once the activity is complete, simply sign off on the form and turn it into Mrs. Bufano and enter to win a prize! Healthy bodies help create healthy minds. #HealthMovesMinds
Get Your Prom Tickets
This year's Junior/Senior Prom is Friday, May 10th at 6:00 pm. It will be held at Ravenwood Golf Club in Victor. Prom tickets will be on sale starting next Monday, 4/29 - 5/3. Tickets will be sold during high school advisement in the atrium. The cost is $55 and students can pay via cash or check (made out to Gananda CSD).
Gananda's UPK and and Kindergarten Registration
Gananda's Pre-K and Kindergarten Enrollment for the 2019-2020 school year is now open. All students currently enrolled in Gananda's UPK program will roll-over to the next level (ie - current UPK 3's to UPK 4 and current UPK 4's to Kindergarten)unless we are notified otherwise. Registration packets are now available.

Reminder: The elementary bus loop is unavailable for student pick up or drop off
As a reminder, elementary students will no longer be able to be in the bus loop in the front of Richard Mann Elementary at any time when school is in session. Due to the number of busses we have going in and out of the bus loop with the addition of UPK, cars are no longer be able to pick up or drop off students in the main bus loop. As you face the main entrance of Richard Mann Elementary, the small bus loop to the left of the building's main entrance can be used for student pick up and drop off. We have staff assisting students in the small bus loop at arrival and dismissal for those not utilizing bus transportation.

The Gananda Education Foundation will be offering pre-packaged school supplies for the 2019-2020 school year. Online ordering will be available soon. Strategic Plan Surveys Coming Soon!
Gananda Central School District is nearing the halfway mark for the 5-year strategic plan which will conclude in June of 2021. As such, we will be sending out survey questions to all of our students, staff, parents, and community members to gather input as to the progress we have made so far. Be on the look out for emails in the coming weeks about participation in the surveys.

Gananda Boys Lacrosse Yeti Raffle
Support the boys lacrosse team by purchasing a raffle ticket for a chance to win a Yeti cooler and other products! Tickets are $10 and can be purchased from Coach Sidari or any parent of a high school boys lacrosse player. Tickets will also be available to purchase during home JV and Varsity boys lacrosse games. The drawing will be held on April 30 during the halftime of the senior night game vs Waterloo. Contact Joe Sidari at jsidari@gananda.org for more information.
Gananda PTO Meeting
Gananda PTO will meetings will be held the first Tuesday of the month at 7pm for the remainder of the school year. The next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, May 7.
The meeting will be located at the middle school cafeteria from 7:00pm-8:00pm.
Discussions will include upcoming volunteer and committee opportunities.
All interested parents, administrators, faculty, and staff are welcome.
Support for Mr. Flansburg
We are keeping Mr. Flansburg and his family in our thoughts as he begins his courageous battle with lung cancer. A gofundme page has been set up to help with his medical costs if anyone is interested in offering support.

The award is given for excellence in teaching. Tina is a Gananda Class of 2008 graduate and is now an ELA teacher at Williamson Middle School. | #Respect Gananda Garden Club members hosted an awareness activity where students guessed the number of plastic bags that would’ve been thrown out if they weren’t made into this giant basket. The Wayne Technical and Career Center hosted 294 students for its annual eighth grade middle school skills competition on April 11. Three of our middle school students placed in their division. Bryan Espinal placed 2nd in carpentry, Hayden Jenkins placed third in heavy metal (machining) and Brooke Litteer took second place in health dimensions.
