Open Class Is No Longer A Requirement
If You Still Have Files On the File Server...
Beginning the week of January 19, the Technology Department will begin migrating our Novell file servers over to Windows File and Print servers. In order to facilitate this process, we will have to completely wipe and reload the server at your schools. Since Google Drive has unlimited storage space that is backed up and available anywhere, we are downsizing the file servers at the school. Your primary storage space is your google drive. We will only be backing up any applications that are on your servers. We ask that you start backing up your personal data that is saved on your school’s file server now. Please do not wait until the last minute to do this. If you have questions about backing up your data, please contact your ITC. A tentative migration schedule will be forthcoming.
Facebook and Games
- Have the students close their laptops when they are not being used in class.
- Walk around when students are using their laptops.
- No student should have a dim screen.
- Use the 3 finger swipe to check for open applications.
Resource Recommended by Christina Jolly
This is a great, research based, reading resource Ms. Jolly found. Teachers make an account, then create their classes. Each class gets a code that students use to register in that class. Teachers can assign passages for students to read that come with questions and vocabulary. Texts are leveled and students can even have them read orally.
She is going to start using it in blended learning stations. The articles are informational so all content areas could find text to use. Schoolwide literacy collaborations are possible.
